A scammer is calling businesses in Brecon claiming to be from The Brecon and Radnor Express with the offer of last minute advertising.
The man, who is going by the name of Ben James, is calling local businesses offering cheap advertising spots on a Christmas wall planner.
The fraudster, who does not work for the newspaper, is asking for card details over the phone to pay for the adverts.
He is also giving his victims the fake mobile number 07897 147529.
General manager Luke Walding said: “If you receive this phone call, it is not from us. We are not producing a Christmas wall planner.”
