LLANGYNIDR Community Primary School are hosting a concert this Saturday (July 1) with Tredegar Orpheus Male Voice Choir for school funds.
The school and the choir last held a concert together in December and the experience was so enjoyable that both parties wanted to put on a repeat performance as soon as possible.
The school choir have been diligently practising since January, when they learned that another concert was being planned, and all the children are very excited.
Sian Shepherdson, from Llangynidr School, and Ian Waite, conductor at Tredegar Orpheus met up and decided on five songs that both choirs could sing together. These include ‘Calon lan’, ‘Delilah’ and ‘Rule the World’. Both choirs will also be singing their own items too.
In preparation last Friday, the school choir attended an evening rehearsal with Tredegar Orpheus to practise the songs together. A huge amount of effort has gone into this concert, so everyone is hoping the tickets will sell out.
The concert at Henderson Hall in Talybont-on-Usk starts at 7pm.
Tickets for the concert are £7 per adult with children allowed in free. The tickets are available to buy from Llangynidr School, The Red Lion pub, Llangynidr, Talybont Post Office or on the door.
