Our members have excelled themselves yet again. After a month of practicing the all important week arrived. This year for the first time, as a club, we did a Welsh language entertainment and well as an English one. With all practice time shared between the two meant a lot of work had to be done in the limited time.

With members ranging from 10 up to 28 everyone was enthusiastic and keen to compete- its important that everyone who wants to take part can do so. The writers and producers of the Welsh Entertainment "Y Dyddiau Da", David and Bethan Price, provided an entertainment that was fun, lively and for those watching, meant it could be enjoyed by those who don't speak Welsh, and everyone in the audience said how wonderful it was. With songs of Mary Hopkins, Ryan and Ronnie, Dafydd Iwan and others groups from the 1970's it was a groovy act from start to finish.

Sennybridge will now go forward to the Wales YFC finals in Bangor on March 7th. A first for the club and also a first for the County having a club taking a Welsh entertainment forward. Another first was Sennybridge winning the choreography award at the festival! Pob lwc pawb.

In the YFC Gala evening all Sennybridge entries had made the cut for the finals. Members in the Junior one plus competitions were placed first and second with sketches involving a naughty class and another about the YFC news.

The seniors one plus acts involved pest control and other animals and the other was revolved around The Traitors! The Traitors took first place with the mime about pest control taking second place - both sketches had had minimal practice (standard) and as ever, it was "all right on the night!”

There were lots of nomination for best actor, actress, set, costumes and make up and in the Actor under 18 was won by Owain and Actress under 18 by Anest.Best actor under 16 in the one plus competition was won by Thomas. On to the English entertainment - Heart of Hearts written and produced by Rhianwen and Angharad Jones.

With three queen of hearts, from young to old, the story of how the queen of hearts had her heart broken in the Wonderland story. The narrator of the story along with the White Rabbit took us through time with the Mad Hatter having a tea party along the way. The Prince broke her heart and played tricks with the cards and ended up in court. The Tweedles stole the tarts and brought the prince to court. The singing and dancing during the production was a credit to all the junior members of the club who did a fantastic job. Everyone has worked so hard and to be placed second at the Drama festival was a huge achievement. The member of the year competition results were announced at the Gala evening and the Junior member of the year is Evie Lewis and runner up of the Senior member of the year was Ffion Havard. Another great achievement by two extremely talented and hard working members.
