Six sheep have been killed by a dog after it escaped from its owner’s garden.

The six ewes were attacked in the Sennybridge area around lunchtime on Friday (May 10).

Dyfed-Powys Police’s Rural Crime Team tweeted dramatic images of four of the mauled ewes at 12.35 on Friday.

The pictures show the ewes on the backs with their throats ripped out and blood covering their necks and heads.

The tweet said: “Livestock attack in the Sennybridge area which resulted in six ewes being killed. This was the result of a dog escaping from its owners garden.”

It is understood the owner of the dog has been found, but it is not known at this time whether the police are prosecuting.

Responding to a comment to the pictures asking what would happen to the dog’s owner, they tweeted: “It has been finalised appropriately in accordance with the victim’s wishes.”
