THE Willow Globe Theatre, near Llanwrthwl, will be closing their theatre season with a magical storytelling show by internationally renowned story teller Cat Weatherill tomorrow (Friday, September 1) at 7pm.
The ‘Golden Oak’ Tells of the magic of British trees through stories and song. Cat has been described by Michael Morpurgo as “one of our greatest story tellers – vivacious and attentive” and by The Times as “a magical performer’”.
This will be the 12th outdoor show of 2017 at a theatre which is seeing growing audiences and building both national and international attention.
The Willow Globe has welcomed over 1,000 people through it’s branches this year alone for Shakespeare, storytelling, community shows, research projects, workshops and residencies. Two shows have previewed here before going on to Edinburgh Fringe where they are getting fantastic reviews.
Two shows have been produced here by two up and coming companies with star-studded casts and their own ‘Willow Globe Company’ enjoyed sell-out audiences for their production of Henry V. Two youth groups – the Everyman Youth Theatre and Mid Powys Youth Theatre – have also performed here this year to high audience acclaim.
The Willow Globe, one of the largest willow structures in the UK, is a truly magical venue.
If you have not yet been there put it on your to-do list.
