THE annual Hay Festival has opened and welcomed hundreds of school children to the festival site.
Youngsters from Franksbridge and Sennybridge primary schools were among the local schools that visited the festival site on the edge of Hay on a sunny first day of the popular event.
Children’s BBC presenters Sam and Mark, who first found fame on the Pop Idol talent programme, were at the site signing copies of their book Long Arm vs The Evil Supply Teacher for their young fans.
