VANDALS have damaged a castle in a children's play park less than two weeks after it was installed.

The wooden castle was installed in the Bryn-Y-Castell play park in Knighton and was paid for by fundraising by the 'group for improvement to Knighton playground' and a donation by Tuffins Mid Counties Coop.

The castle has been left standing on a slope with two of its legs broken off and the other two lifted out of the ground. There are also muddy footprints on the sides where it appears to have been kicked.

Dyfed Powys Police have been informed and are investigating the damage.
