RHAYADER Vintage Club held its 16th annual tractor run in aid of charity on Sunday, August 5 and mayor of Rhayader Cllr William ‘Wiz’ Davies waved the tractors off from the start line.

Some participants had travelled from as far as the Midlands, Oxford and Bristol. The tractors led by tractor run coordinator Ralph Powell paraded through the town before heading on a scenic route via the Elan & Cwmystwyth Valleys.

Drivers stopped for a roast dinner in Llangurig Community Centre before heading back down the Dernol Valley alongside the river Wye and back in to the town to end the day.

Rhayader Vintage Club would like to thank all the marshals, land owners, catering staff and participants who all contributed to a fantastic run on a beautiful sunny day.

The club, that has raised more than £15,000 for charity in the past, will hand over this year’s donations at a presentation at the end of the year. The club has yet to decide which charities will benefit this year but normally donates to two or three local charities.
