BBC Music Magazine has announced the nominations for its 2016 awards with Brecon’s Rachel Podger among the leading contenders.
The awards are the only classical music awards in which the main categories are voted for by the public and this year’s shortlist, featuring leading names from the international classical music world, represents the best of more than 1,200 recordings reviewed by BBC Music Magazine in 2015.
Brecon violinist, Rachel Podger’s account of Vivaldi’s L’estro armonico with Brecon Baroque, is one of the shortlisted nominees.
Rachel’s CD is in the Concerto category.
The winners will be announced at an exclusive awards ceremony held on 5 April 5 at Kings Place, London.
You can vote for Rachel and Brecon Baroque at www.awards.classical-music.com. Voting closes on February 19.
