Rhayader Young Farmers Club raised £700 for two local causes as a result of carolling around the area for three nights and holding a carol service at Nantgwyllt Church in the Elan Valley on Christmas Eve.
The money was split equally between Rhayader’s GP surgery and the Arches community support group.
The presentation of the cheques was made by Rhayader YFC chairman Ffion Mills, who is pictured above presenting cheques for £350 each to Jane Jones the practice nurse at the Rhayader surgery (left) and Pippa Boss the chief officer at the Arches community group.
During the presentation Jane Jones explained that with the help of local donations, new equipment had been added at the surgery including a blood pressure monitor that allowed patients to take their own blood pressure.
She said the £350 donation from Rhayader YFC would now be used towards the purchase of a new defibrillator for use inside of the surgery.
Also in pictured at the presentation are other members of Rhayader YFC, including secretary Emma Jones and treasurer Hayley Davies.
