The Brecon Beacons National Park is now rebranding itself to show its green low carbon ambitions.

Spending money on this exercise will have cost consultants and designers fees and means recycling existing literature and maps. What a waste. Why include some metal work that has no context on the proposed logo. There is no reference to a Beacon in the welsh name. A logo with mountains, trees and streams would be more appropriate and a fresh start.

Surely, a greater priority would have been to invest their limited resources in the Park’s green ambitions? Reclaiming wetland, peat bogs and replanting trees, which, I assume would NOT be on a commercial basis to help the economy.

Most people who buy any of the many brands of vacuum cleaner still call it a “Hoover” so the Park will still be called the Brecon Beacons by most people.

So, where next? The anti-sugar lobby must surely focus on Sugar Loaf Mountain near Abergavenny. The Assembly could get sponsorship like the Principality and Emirate Stadiums.

Perhaps MYNYDD PEPSI MAX. Sorry, I mean MYNYDD PEPSI UCHAFSWM, or, MYNYDD ASPARTAME would be suitable alternatives.
