BRECON and Radnorshire MP Chris Davies paid a visit to Llandrindod Wells Bowling club to see their facilities and watch one of their tournaments.

The MP is trying to encourage the elderly to be active and sees bowls clubs as a great way for them to achieve that goal.

Mr Davies said: “What a privilege to be a guest of the Llandrindod Wells Bowling Club during one of their many tournaments.

“It is great to see so many people from all ages remaining active and getting involved in local Bowling clubs.

“This club based in Rock Park is a true ‘jewel in the crown’ of Mid Wales.

It has played host to some of Wales’ and the UK’s major championships over its 105-year history.

“It was an enormous pleasure to be in the company of club president Ken Price and secretary Derek Hart and also to accept a book ‘The Running Bowl’ which is all about the club’s first century.”
