Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for footage and witnesses after a woman died following a collision between two cars.

Police are asking for help with their investigation following the fatal road traffic accident between Llanbister and Camnant on Wednesday evening, March 16.

A white Toyota Yaris and a Volkswagen Passat collided at around 7.30pm according to Dyfed-Powys Police.

A 20-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 36-year-old has sadly passed away since the crash.

The 20-year-old woman remains in hospital, however her condition has since been described as stable.

A man and two children were also taken to hospital following the collision with minor injuries - and have since been released.

Dyfed-Powys Police, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service all attended the crash on the A483 which was closed for around 12 hours.

The road opened just before 7am on Thursday, March 18, following the multi-agency response which saw the vehicles recovered at approximately 2.45am on the Thursday.

In a statement since the woman’s death, Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the A483, between “Llanbister and Camnant, at approximately 7:30pm on Wednesday, 16th March.

“The two-vehicle collision involved a white Toyota Yaris and a Volkswagen Passat. A 20-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman were both taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries.

“One man and two children were also taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries, before being released.

“The 20-year-old woman remains in hospital and has been described as stable but sadly, the 36-year-old woman later passed away.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision, saw these vehicles in the area at the relevant times or anyone living in the area with CCTV or ring doorbells is asked to contact the investigation team with any information.”

In a previous version of the story, the woman’s age was listed as 36-years-old, which was in line with a Dyfed-Powys Police report. Police have now issued a correction that she is 38-years-old. We are sorry for any confusion.
