Firefighters have rescued the pilot of a light aircraft after it crash-landed in a field near Talgarth.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Talgarth and Crickhowell fire stations were called to the incident at 11:38am on Saturday, December 27.

On arrival, crews found a single light aircraft that had crash-landed in a field. Firefighters worked to stabilise the aircraft before carefully extricating the pilot, who was trapped inside.
Specialist equipment, including Stabfast stabilisers and hydraulic cutting tools, was used during the rescue. The fire service said the operation was particularly challenging because fuel lines ran throughout the aircraft’s chassis and aviation fuel was stored in the wings, increasing the risk to both the casualty and crews.
Once freed, the pilot was carried from the wreckage and transferred to the Air Ambulance before being flown to hospital for treatment. The extent of the pilot’s injuries has not been confirmed.
The incident prompted a multi-agency response, with Dyfed-Powys Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance all attending the scene.
Fire crews remained on site for more than two hours, leaving the scene at 1:52pm.
