POLICE are urging people not to enter the grounds of the old Talgarth Hospital because it is ‘hazardous.’

The warning from officers came after several concerned residents, who live close to the site, complained about ‘boy racers’ using the hospital as a race track.

One vexed resident, who gave her name but didn’t want it published, told the Brecon and Radnor Express she was at her wits’ end because noisy motorists were driving around at all hours of the night.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Officers from Hay-on-Wye and Brecon police stations make regular patrols of the old Talgarth Hospital.

“The site is disused and officers have been working closely with the owners in order to minimise footfall in the area.

“Regular patrols are made of the site and vehicles stopped, with officers using stop and search powers where needed.

“The site is hazardous and officers urge people not to go there.”
