The Welsh Ambulance Trust has appealed to anyone feeling unwell to use the NHS 111 line before calling an ambulance as demand on the service increases tonight.

“We’re experiencing really high call volumes right across Wales this evening,” said a spokesman for the the ambulance trust.

“As always, the sickest patients come first and anyone not facing a serious emergency could wait longer or be asked to seek alternatives to an ambulance.

“If you feel unwell, check out NHS 111 Wales online for trusted health advice and please use 999 responsibly!” she said.
