Police have warned football fans not to drink and drive as Wales kick off their Euro 2016 bid.
The police campaign, which started on Friday, June 10, will run until the end of the European Championships on July 10 and officers expect to stop thousands of motorists across Wales and test for drink or drug driving.
Wales kick off their Euro campaign today, Saturday, against Slovakia in Bordeaux and Gareth Bale and his team mates will be hoping to get off to a good start.
While almost 24,000 Welsh fans have tickets for the game, Welsh castles and landmarks are being illuminated red to mark Wales playing in their first major tournament finals for 58 years.
Hundreds of fans are expected to flock to the fan zones in Cardiff’s Bute Park and Castle Square in Swansea and people across Wales are expected to host their own parties to watch the games which include a match between Wales and England on Thursday, June 16.
Dyfed-Powys Police will be taking part in the drink-drive campaign and Assistant Chief Constable Pam Kelly has advised people to plan ahead, saying there is "no excuse" to drive under the influence, or drugs or alcohol.
"We absolutely want people to have a great time and to support Wales," she said, "What I am asking people to do is make a choice; they should either drink or drive, they should never do both."
