ONE of two teenagers injured in an early hours incident in Sennybridge has been released from hospital.

The second teenager involved remains in hospital in a serious condition. Dyfed Powys Police have said a family liaison officer is supporting the family.

Police were yesterday, Thursday, granted a further 36 hours by Llandrindod Wells magistrates court to question two 18-year-old males who were arrested on suspicion of assault.

Detective Inspector Steve Lloyd of Dyfed Powys Police said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in the Defynnog Road area of Sennybridge between 12.30am and 1am on Wednesday July 29, or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police by calling 101.

"I’d also like to thank the Sennybridge community for their support and co-operation during the enquiry, and reassure them that there will be a continued police presence in the community whilst enquiries continue."

On Wednesday, July 29, Dyfed Powys Police said a 16 and 18-year-old male had sustained serious head injuries shortly before 1am that morning.

Police had taped off part of the village following the incident which the force said had occurred in the Defynnog Road area.

Dyfed Powys Police has asked anyone who witnessed the incident or has further information to contact it on 101.
