This Friday, March 27 and Saturday , March 28, the Old Railway Line Garden Centre, near Hay-on-Wye is taking part in the national Garden Re-Leaf fundraising event.

Centre owner Mark Cleary said: "Customers are invited to join us on both days between 10am and 4pm to enjoy a range of fundraising activities from our popular 'Wellie Throwing Challenge' to 'Soak the Boss' wet sponge throwing stall which I am not looking forward to."

The cost of each activity includes a raffle ticket for the opportunity to win from a number of prizes and there are also additional fringe entertainments including competitions for children to take part in.

"We hope plenty of people come along to take part in the fundraising activities to help raise lots of money for Greenfingers," added Mark.

Greenfingers was launched in November 1998 by a group of volunteers drawn from all sectors of the gardening industry. The gardens it creates are designed to help children and their families and friends during a very emotional and difficult time.
