On Tuesday, September 6 Builth Wells Branch members of the Royal Naval Association (RNA) and friends of the Branch journeyed to the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) in Staffordshire.

The trip was organised specifically as an opportunity for the group to pay their respects at the Submariners Memorial, which was completed earlier this year.

The Branch contributed to the fundraising for the memorial in memory of a founder member who was a Submariner all his career and sadly Crossed the Bar in 2018.

The Branch spent a very good day at the NMA, which they said was also was very thought provoking for many of them.

Special thanks to Toby Weale and his luxury coach and RNA HQ for helping to fund the outing.

On the homeward journey back to Builth, the general feeling was that the Arboretum warranted a return visit, as one day was not time enough to take it all in.

Builth RNA welcomes anybody interested in finding out more about the Association, or the Arboretum, to call in to their meeting at 7:30pm at Builth Wells Rugby Club, on the third Friday of every month.
