The Brecon & Ystradgynlais children’s services team have sent out a special thank you after the success of their annual Santa Appeal.
The appeal, which is run each year by children’s services staff members, is a donation scheme which benefits children, young people and families in the local area.
A spokesperson from children’s services said: “We are always extremely grateful for the substantial and valued support with our Santa Appeal, which runs each year. We are overwhelmed by the way local organisations, businesses and the public embrace this appeal, and for this, we are truly grateful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
“All the donations we receive go to families and children who are local to the area, who are experiencing challenging times, especially now during this awful pandemic. The gifts are given to help parents make sure that their children have an enjoyable Christmas, and have presents to open on Christmas day; as some of the families we work with struggle financially to buy presents for their children.
“Once again this year we received an overwhelming response, which really makes a difference to our local community. Success yet again for our festive appeal”.
“We would personally like to thank:
Mr Roger Reese, and fellow Rotary members of Brecon Rotary Club (33 gift vouchers for our teenagers).
PCI Pharma Services, Hay-on-Wye – (boxes of toys).
Mrs Shane Gearing of Crickhowell (toys).
Mrs Kay Bott of Glasbury-on-Wye (toys).
Llangynidr W.I. (toys).
Llanfaes CP School, (toys).
Members of the public – (toys, toiletries etc).
“Special thanks to our collection centres. (Hay Accountancy Services, Hay-on-Wye and NatWest Bank, Brecon. We appreciate your continued support, as your help enables the local community to deliver the presents in a central location).
“And of course, a huge thank you to the Brecon & Radnor Express for placing the advertisement in the paper each year.”
