A STAR of the local stage is to tread the boards with the National Youth Theatre.

Joe Dunn, 18, has been accepted into the prestigious London entertainment school, whose former graduates include The King's Speech star Colin Firth, following a successful audition earlier this year.

Builth Wells High School A-Level student Joe will be no stranger to the Mid Wales audience, following successful roles with the Builth Wells YFC, who are set to compete at national level in Blackpool next month, Mid Powys Youth Theatre and the recently closed Theatr Powys.
