THE Watton Allotments Association opened its doors to members of the public considering having an allotment and to show off the work that has been done with the assistance of grant money.

The Open Day on Saturday (July 8) was attended by Brecon’s deputy mayor Mannie Trailor and other VIPs.

One of the key features of the allotments on display are the new raised beds, which give improved access for both able-bodied and disabled gardeners and have been made with extensive use of recyclable materials. At the end of this growing season, two raised beds will become vacant, and anyone wishing to apply should contact the allotment committee.
