OVER £100 was donated to the Welsh Air Ambulance Charity last week which was raised by the Brecon & Radnor Express newspaper earlier this year.

The newspaper’s general manager Luke Walding handed over a cheque for £131, which was raised through at the paper’s inaugural sports awards evening on Friday, March 23, to the charity’s community coordinator Helen Pruett.

Ms Pruett said: “I’m absolutely delighted, we are very thankful to the Brecon & Radnor Express. It’s great to see the continued support from the people of mid Wales, which is what helps us keep our four helicopters flying and delivering pre-hospital care.”

Ms Pruett said one missions costs the charity approximately £1,500 while it is estimated they spend £6.5 million on missions per year.
