Having unreliable broadband is something no gamer - or indeed internet user - wants to worry about.
New research by Compare the Market has revealed the top UK areas for the best gaming connection, as well as the places gamers want to avoid in order to enjoy gaming in peace.
To reach their conclusions, the price comparison site analysed average broadband download speed, superfast broadband availability, and access to decent broadband data.
According to the study, multiple locations in Wales rank in the worst 10 broadband areas.
Brecon and Radnorshire was the worst in Wales and fifth worst in the UK, with 5.7% of people unable to access decent broadband.
The ‘decent broadband’ premise is those below to Universal Service Obligation in May 2021 - those unable to receive 10 Mbps download speed or 1 Mbps upload speed, which Ofcom regards as necessary components of ‘decent broadband’.
Brecon and Radnorshire, according to the study, has an average speed of just 39.50 Mpbs, with superfast broadband available to just over 75% of the population.
The top 10 best areas in the UK for broadband are all in England, with Kingston Upon Hull East and Kingston Upon Hull North claiming the top two spots.
All 10 areas on the list for worst connectivity are in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
