Brecon’s Co-op store has matched a donation made by a local retirement complex, which will go towards those in need in Ukraine.
The residents of Gwenllian Morgan Court in Brecon have been shocked and appalled by the news coming from Ukraine, so decided to do their bit and invite donations, which could be sent to aid agencies.
In the space of a few days, they managed to collect an impressive total of £85.
Joan Millard, secretary of the social club, thanked everyone for their generosity and said: “It is not so easy to hand over cash these days but the local Co-op will accept cash, and has promised to match the funding.
“We collected £85 which with the matched funding will make a total of £170 to go directly to the emergency in Ukraine.”
