This World Mental Health Day, Brecon & District Mind is opening its Wellbeing Centre for ‘Tea & Talk’ event.

The charity will be opening its doors from 1pm-4pm on Friday, October 10 and welcomes the community to drop in, chat and connect.

Brecon & District Mind is also thrilled to announce extended hours and additional wellbeing services, making support more accessible than ever.

Walk-in sessions with wellbeing practitioners are now available as follows: Monday: 2pm-4pm Wednesday: 11am-12pm Thursday: 5pm-7pm Friday: 10am-11am These sessions are intended as a first port of call for those interested in support, not a crisis service, and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

“We’re so excited to bring this service to our community,” says CEO Marie Davies.

“Our aim is to provide an extra level of support for mental health and wellbeing, ensuring that everyone has somewhere to turn for help and conversation.”

Mental health affects us all differently, but it is an important part of our lives every day. Across England, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year, and nearly 40,000 children recently faced waits of over two years for support.

Brecon & District Mind is committed to helping local people access support early and in a welcoming environment.

World Mental Health Day takes place every year on October 10. It’s a reminder of the importance of good mental health and the need to prioritise and invest in good mental health. Poor mental health is not inevitable, and World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for us all to consider how, together, we can help everyone have better mental health.
