Jessie Hazell is a Level 3 Hairdressing student at Brecon College and has had a very successful year.

Jessie was nominated and achieved School of Hairdressing and Applied Therapies student of the Year award in March 2021.

The successful student is also a MAT Learner and has entered and represented the College in the Skills Wales Competition for Hairdressing this year.

Jessie also entered this year’s first ever Lee Stafford Education Photo Shoot Competition 2021. This is the first competition entry for the NPTC Group for Lee Stafford Academy competitions.

Jessie entered the Level 3 Category for Cutting & Styling Lee Stafford Photo shoot competition 2021 and the school is very proud and delighted that she was announced as second place winner.

Jessie said: “During my time at Brecon college I have been pushed to the best of my abilities by my tutors, Tina Griffiths, Michelle Paddon, Claire Richardson and Rebecca Crew. They helped my find my passion in hair, they took the time to answer all of my questions until I was able to understand I couldn’t have done it without their dedication to teach.”

Tina Griffiths Level 3 Hairdressing course tutor at Brecon, said: “Jessie has been an absolute pleasure to teach and has become a bright, young, and talented student in Hairdressing over the last two years.

“With her own personal issues and living independently it has never stopped her or affected her college work. Jessie has a real passion for Hairdressing, and it is seen throughout her work, representing the College and the department of Hairdressing and Applied Therapies in the Skills Wales competition and coming second place in the Lee Stafford Photo shoot competition.

“Jessie worked hard throughout remote sessions and training to practise, nothing is ever to much for Jessie and will see a bright future in Hairdressing. I’m very proud of her achievements and wish her all the best for the future.”
