THE newly appointed headteacher at Brecon High School is promising a back to basics attitude and action on its massive budget deficit.
Michael Morris has warned the Penlan comprehensive could be judged as failing by school inspectors Estyn, unless it gets to grips with its three-quarters of a million pounds deficit.
The rookie head is the school's first permanent appointment since previous head Ingrid Gallagher resigned amid strikes by teachers in April 2011.
Mr Morris has said redundancies will be a last resort - but has refused to rule them out.
