Brecon Lions Club were approached by the organisers of the ‘Peace Garden’ in the Watton for specific funding. The ‘Peace Garden was in need of seating and Brecon Lions Club agreed to provide funding. To provide the necessary funds to complete the seating Brecon Lions Club joined with Brecon Rotary Club to ensure suitable seating was provided. Both clubs agreed a donation of £500, thus making a total of £1,000. On behalf of the Lions, club treasurer Barrie Jones presented a cheque for £500 to Dawn Macintosh, treasurer, and Drew Hore, assistant treasurer, of the ‘Peace Garden’ committee. They both expressed their gratitude on behalf of the ‘Peace Garden’ committee. Brecon Lions Club continue to provide for a ‘Rainbow’ of needs within the community of Brecon and District. Brecon Lions Club were delighted to be joined by fellow ‘Service Providers’ Brecon Rotary Club on this project.
