BRECON'S Regimental Museum is urging people to search for families papers related to the First World War.

The Tommmy's Letter from the Front project aims to create an archive of letters and materials related to the conflict.

Campaign director Dorcas Cresswell said: "All material will be archived at the Royal Welsh Regimental Museum for future generations, family history, and as an educational resource.

"We are looking at the potential of thousands of wild flowers blooming with human stories that will move the heart, and give a richer insight into the Great War. This unique mosaic of Tommy's Letters will give us all a new view of the war and what it was like to be caught up in it."

The museum has in its possession a letter sent back home at Christmas time from a Private J Fowler of the 2nd Battalion Monmouthshire Regiment in which he describes the Belgium Front.
