Hay Town Council has announces the reopening of Gypsy Castle Playground, following a programme of improvement works designed to enhance play opportunities for local children and families.
The refurbished playground provides a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for children of different ages and abilities, supporting active play and wellbeing within the community.
The improvements form part of the town council’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and investing in public open spaces for residents and visitors alike.
The project has been made possible thanks to funding support from Awards for All Wales, the Welsh Government along with contributions and support from Black Mountain Lions, North Weir Trust, Warren Trust, and other local supporters.
Speaking at the reopening, Cllr Gethin Williams said: “Gypsy Castle Playground is a much-loved community space, and we are delighted to see it reopened for children and families to enjoy. This project would not have been possible without the generous support of everyone who has contributed to improving this facility for our community.”
Hay Town Council would like to thank all those involved in the project, including funders, local organisations, contractors, and officers, for their work in bringing the improvements to completion.
The playground is now open and available for use.
