Local voluntary and community groups in Brecon have been invited to apply for the Brecon Rotary Community Chest, which offers grants of up to £500 to support projects that benefit the wider community.

The small grants scheme aims to help groups set up new initiatives, expand existing projects, or run one-off activities that strengthen and improve life in the Brecon area. Eligible projects should focus on creating a clean, safe, attractive, and thriving local environment, while providing opportunities for local people to get involved.

Applications are now open and must be submitted by November 14. Successful applicants will be notified before Christmas.

Registered charities, voluntary or community groups, clubs, and societies in Brecon and the surrounding district are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to local charities, and national charities must demonstrate how their project will directly benefit the local community.

Projects that promote religious or political beliefs, generate personal profit, or cover statutory obligations will not be funded. Grants are intended for small-scale initiatives rather than ongoing running costs.

Interested groups can download the application form and find further guidance at Brecon Rotary’s website.
