Brecon Rotary Club has handed over two notebooks to be used by young carers in the community.
Brecon Rotarian John Hopkins gave the devices to Jane Fletcher of Credu - Powys Young Carers in Bethel Square last week.- pictured right.
The notebooks, which are in good working oder, were donated by members of the community to Brecon Rotary where they were cleaned and checked over to make sure they still worked.
The devices were then handed over to Credu to be used by young carers, who may not otherwise have permanent access to this technology.
Brecon Rotary has been supporting young carers for many years and this is the second year that they have collected used notebooks for re-use.
Gareth Griffiths, who leads the youth team on Brecon Rotary, said: “Many young people care for a family member day in and day out in addition to having to cope with the usual pressures of normal life.
“They will have less opportunity to socially mix with their peers outside school and have less access to funds to allow them to purchase technology such as notebooks for their own personal use.
“Thanks to Credu these young people have access to a support network that understands their situations and gives them a chance to take time out, socialise and above all have fun
“We look forward to continuing our support to Credu. All donations in our Bethel Square wishing well up to Christmas will be for Credu and if any reader has a notebook in good condition which could be passed on please do get in touch via our website.”
