Festive shoppers will be able to stay in Brecon a bit later tonight as the town’s stores will be remaining open for longer than usual.

Many businesses in the town will be taking part in the late night shopping tonight [Thursday, December 16], with some staying open as late as 7pm.

Organised by the Brecon Chamber of Trade and Tourism, it is the second Thursday during December which has featured the late night initiative.

To help get visitors and residents even more in the festive mood, there will also be live music and food on offer.

The Brecon Town Concert Band will be playing outside St Mary’s Church between 5pm and 6pm, meanwhile Aberhonddu & District Male Choir will be singing between 6pm and 7pm.

Brecon Chamber of Trade and Tourism posted online about the event, including a thank you for their chairman who organised the late shopping evenings.

The post said: "Well done to our chairman Andrew Powell for getting this sorted for us all."

It is thought that food will include a hog roast from Beacons Hog Roast and there are rumours that burgers will also be on offer.
