WOMEN across the globe will be marking this year's International Women's Day on March 8 with a series of celebrations in recognition of the impressive economic, political and social achievements of females throughout the world.

To mark the occasion more locally, a group of women in Brecon have come together to organise the first ever Brecon Women's Festival in the town which will run from March 1-11.
