S.E.A. Dragons are preparing to make their debut in the Premier Division, and proudly doing so as the only team from Brecon, and in fact, the whole of Powys competing at this level.

The league, which now has 16 clubs, includes high-profile teams such as Dragons R.F.C. Esports (the official team of Dragons Rugby), Cardiff Pirates (Cardiff Rugby’s partner team), Pontypridd Pit Ponies (Pontypridd United FC’s esports side), and Wrexham Robins.

The team from Brecon are aiming to be frontrunners in the industry with a ‘money ball’ strategy based off detailed data analysis, which they believe is not used widely in the esports industry and can give them an edge over competitors.

One of S.E.A Dragons’ founders is former Brecon High School student, Patrick Bialowas, who has worked as a data analysis at Hereford FC, Hinton Football Club and more clubs including a managerial role at a futsal team.

In preparation for their debut season, the Brecon outfit have unveiled some garments of their own with their first ever official jersey. They celebrated the new black and blue jersey with a “Capital Takeover” photoshoot across Cardiff’s most iconic landmarks.

In the Welsh Esports League, the league is based on six video game titles including popular video games EA FC (formally known as Fifa), Rocket League, Counter-Strike 2, Rainbow 6 Siege and more.

In terms of participation, the Dragons will be one of the more active teams in the league, entering four out of the six game titles - most teams enter two or three.

They had originally planned to enter five, but due to a last-minute loan deal with a Spanish Valorant team (which included two Welsh players) that fell through due to circumstances out of their control.

One of the team’s founders, and former Brecon High School student, Patrick Bialowas summed up their squad of players. He said: “In EA FC we’ve signed ‘EyEzNoZe’, one of the brightest young Welsh talents in the game. In his debut season last time out, he won the WEL title with Swansea-based Red Kites Esports and also claimed the College Esports Welsh Cup in both 2023 and 2024. We’re confident he’ll be representing Wales internationally in the near future and are thrilled to bring him onboard.

“In Counter-Strike 2, we’ve assembled a strong and experienced five-player squad, featuring several players who previously represented Cardiff Pirates. These players have never finished below second in the league and are part of the most successful CS2 side in WEL history, now competing in our colours.

“Rainbow 6 Siege is more of a calculated gamble. Most of the players will be making their Welsh Esports League debut, but their data and track record from external tournaments suggest we may have found a truly special, under-the-radar group. We genuinely believe they have what it takes to win the league.

“Our Rocket League team is one we’re particularly excited about. We’ve secured a major signing in Connor ‘Faizye’ Chittock, our new Head Coach. Despite being relatively young, Connor has made waves in the college scene, turning York College Vikings from underdogs into a powerhouse. In 2024, they reached the Northern Semi-Finals of the British Esports Champs. In 2025, they went one better, becoming Northern Champions and national runners-up. He also led them to back-to-back BETT Show tournament wins. We believe Connor has the potential to become one of the top esports coaches in the UK, if not Europe, and we were up against serious competition to bring him to Brecon.

“Following Connor from York, we’ve also signed ‘itsfavcollie’ to the Rocket League roster. Joining them is our first international signing, ‘stephrll’, a top-800 Spanish player currently part of the EU academy team for Eighty6 Esports, who we’ve signed on loan. Rounding out the squad is ‘themetalheadash’, a talented young Welsh player who had been training with WEL side The Rejects. We’re really proud of the balance we’ve struck between proven quality and high-potential local talent.

“Finally, we’re thrilled to say we'd secured a partnership with AnalysisPro, the Welsh-based performance analysis company representing Nacsport in the UK and Ireland. This is a huge step forward for us, Nacsport has been used by elite sports teams like Liverpool FC and Atlético Madrid, and through this deal we now have access to the same world-class software. It’s a major part of our ambition to bring professional standards of analysis and development to grassroots esports here in Wales.”
