A WARD at Bronllys hospital has been safeguarded for the future helping to pave the way for future development.
The Llewellyn Ward at Bronllys Hospital is to remain open thanks to the Haygarth Surgery, which has taken over its running and the news bodes well for proposals for a health and wellbeing park at the site, with investment buildings and infrastructure now on the cards to support it.
Chair of the League of Friends, Maggie Sims, said the group had worked with Powys teaching Health Board (PtHB) to help secure the ward: "This is something the League of Friends is really pleased about because we have worked so hard over the years to keep the hospital open. We have been threatened with the closure of the hospital so many times over the past 10 years."
The future of the Llewllyn Ward had been uncertain when its former consultant retired and a decision was made not to replace them.
