The local Co-op stores in Builth Wells are keen to support community groups and charities in the local area and are setting up a forum to help foster this.
The first meeting of the forum will take place at The Strand in Builth Wells on Thursday, June 30 at 6pm.
Builth Wells Mayor, Alan Waller, said: “This is the first month in my capacity as Mayor, and so I’m delighted to support the Co-op’s initiative to start a forum group, as it will benefit so many great causes in the area.”
Helen Tuite, the new Co-op Member Pioneer, added: “One of the main aims of the Co-op is to get charities and community groups working together, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a chat over a cuppa and a biscuit.
“The Co-op in Builth supports three local causes each year by donations from membership. This year, they are Pontfaen Young Farmers Club, The Albert Hall and Bracken Cancer Trust. But we can still help many more groups throughout the year in addition to this.”
