Builth Wells Community Support (BWCS) held its last Luncheon Club for the year on December 8, with a traditional Christmas dinner.
Delyth Hughes was the cook, and she was able to produce the most delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings, followed by a spectacular trifle.
She was supported by Jeremy Pugh (Chair), who along with Ian Phillips, became waiters for the day.
Eironwy Phillips (Past Chair) and Wendy Evans helped with the preparation of the vegetables, the serving up and various other tasks.
Paula Lee made flower arrangements for each table which were later raffled along with a jar of honey kindly donated by Shane Jones and a box of chocolates generously given by Mr and Mrs Fourny.
The participants showed their appreciation of the work that goes into preparing these meals all year round with a collection of more than £78 for the volunteers.
This was re-donated to the charity.
Office staff arranged the Christmas crackers and all the transport to the venue for those that needed it.
Sian Jones, the driver, often stays to help with the lunches and reads out the quiz and raffle.
BWCS is very grateful to Builth Wells Bowls Club as it is a stunning and relaxing location for these lunches, which take place twice a month.
Delyth said: “All the hard work was well worth it just to hear the happy cheerful voices of those people taking part.”
