BRECON businessman Iain McIntosh and his wife Dawn are behind a plan to decorate the town with huge poppies in the run-up to Remembrance Day.
The couple who run Young’s of Brecon Ltd carpet fitters are offering the large plastic poppies to any business or office that is happy to display them in the window to show their support for the Poppy Appeal.
November 11 this year is the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The poppies can be obtained free of charge by calling Iain or Dawn on 01874 623700.
Cllr McIntosh, who represents Yscir ward on Powys County Council, said: “We’re very proud to be able to do this. We’d like to thank the Army and Powys County Council for their support and for allowing the placement of poppies throughout our town.”
