BRECON and Radnorshire MP Chris Davies has been fined £1,500 and told to carry out 50 hours community service for submitting a false expenses claim.
The Conservative MP pleaded guilty to two charges, providing a false expenses claim and attempting to do so, when he appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court last month.
He appeared before London’s Southwark Crown Court today where he was fined £1,500 and also sentenced to carry out 50 hours unpaid work, which he must do over the next 12 months. He must also pay costs.
The expenses claim related to invoices for landscape photographs used to decorate his Builth Wells constituency office.
The Liberal Democrats and Labour have called on the MP, first elected in 2015, to resign.
