ACCOUNTS assistant Christopher Pollington is unrecognisable after shaving off all the hair on his head, including his beard, to raise money for a charity close to his heart.

Christopher, who works at Ashmole & Co in Llandovery, had a beard for five years and his partner had never seen him without one.

His children took some persuading to let him shave his hair off and Ashmole & Co’s clients would not know him any other way as he’d been sporting a beard since starting at the firm almost a year ago.

Hairless Christopher embarked on the challenge to raise money for the Licensed Trade Charity, which helps pubs, bars and brewery people when they are in need.

He spent the ten years before joining Ashmole & Co running the Royal Oak Inn in Rhandirmwyn.

Christopher said, “The thought of shaving off my full head of hair, as well as my beard, was terrifying. My nan was the only person that was pleased as she said she would be able to see her grandson’s face again! There’s a lot of charities struggling to raise funds during these difficult times, and I wanted to show my support for a charity that is close to my heart. Thank you to everyone who has supported me.”

He has already raised £415 out of his £500 fundraising goal.

Ashmole & Co Partner in the Llandovery office, Ceri Llwyd, said, “Christopher joined our team last June and we’ve always known him as having a well-kept full head of hair and beard. When clients return to regularly visiting our office they are going to have quite a shock with his transformation. As a local, rural, firm Ashmole & Co has always welcomed any opportunity to support causes that make a difference to those in the rural community. We fully support Christopher and congratulate him on his efforts to help raise funds for those in the licensed trade.”
