BRECON Cathedral is to host its first Christmas Tree Festival in December.
Keen to attract more visitors over the festive season to what is the mother church of the Diocese of Brecon and Swansea, Hazel Marshall has organised with her husband, the Dean of Brecon Cathedral, the Very Revd Geoffrey Marshall, for the cathedral to have its very own event.
"We are always looking for ways to encourage people to visit our beautiful cathedral and wanted to add something special for Advent and Christmas," Hazel told The Brecon & Radnor Express.
"We thought of either a tree festival or a crib festival and the former seemed the better option for this year. We wanted something which would involve the whole community and whilst initially unsure about the response, we are delighted with the replies we have so far received," she added.
