Get ready for a night of storytelling, shared food, and toe-tapping fun as Llandovery Community Cinema continues its Welsh Language Film Programme, funded by Ffilm Cymru, with a special screening of Cymer Dy Siar (with English Subtitles).

A heartfelt and humorous film about a three-sister country and western band navigating life, love, and loyalty in rural Wales.

Taking place on Saturday, 16 August, at the Rhys Prichard Memorial Hall, this unique community event is more than just a cinema night. After being transported by the upbeat music on screen, join in with an instructor led barn dance, straight after the screening.

Cymer Dy Siar combines humour, heart, and harmony as it follows three sisters at the end of the 20th century striving to make music and meaning in a tight-knit community. Based on the hit S4C series Tair Chwaer, the title translates to ‘take your share’ referencing the sisters’ turn to sing but also an encouragement to take the spotlight in their own lives. Starring Pobol y Cwm icons Donna Edwards and Jonathan Nefydd, Cymer Dy Siar is packed with heart and toe-tapping tunes, blending Western vibes with Welsh voices.
