Brecon residents are being invited to share their views on how to strengthen their local community at an event hosted by the Co-op this week.

The meeting will take place at the Co-op Food store on Lion Street at 10am on Friday, October 24. It aims to bring local people together to discuss how co-operation and small businesses can help revitalise the town and boost community spirit.

The event is part of the Co-op’s On Your Corner, In Your Corner campaign and will include refreshments and activities to encourage discussion.

It is being organised by local “Member Activator” Kelsie Cantelo, who works with residents and Co-op members on projects addressing local priorities.

Fay Bowden is the National Member Activator Manager at Co-op, supporting Member Activators across the UK. She said: “Everyone is really looking forward to bringing people together and having those meaningful discussions that could really benefit their wider community.

“We hope these events help everyone - including those at our Co-op - understand more about the challenges facing high streets and local economies today, so we can develop solutions together.”
