SCORES of people had to be turned away from a meeting to discuss a proposed supermarket in Hay-on-Wye after the venue was filled to capacity.

Organisers had to hold a second impromptu meeting to accommodate those locked out of the 200 capacity Hay Primary School hall on Monday evening, January 23.

The second meeting, held just over an hour later at the same venue, was attended by around 160 people who had earlier been turned away.
