The daughter of a missing pensioner who was last seen in the Brecon Beacons two weeks ago has issued a plea for her dad to let the family know he is safe.
Maldwyn Miles, 67, was last seen near the Brecon Mountain Railway at Pant on Thursday, February 22 around 2.30pm after travelling to Merthyr Tydfil by bus the previous day.
His daughter, Rebecca said: "You are not in trouble, there is no need to be scared to come home. If you do not want to come home please just let someone know you are safe. Dad, please let us know you’re okay."
Maldwyn was last seen wearing a yellow high-vis jacket, beige trousers, navy slip on shoes and is described as being slim and 5.7ft in height.
Maldwyn used his bus pass to travel to Merthyr however there has been no activity on the pass since, although the police said that he was travelling with some money which he may have used to travel.
Superintendent Ceri Hughes from South Wales Police said: “We are extremely concerned for Maldwyn, he is an elderly gentleman and we do not know if he managed to find shelter during the terrible snow and freezing temperatures we have had.
“Although South Wales Police and Mountain Rescue searches have been undertaken and will resume following the bad weather, we are asking people particularly in the Pant area to help us by checking their sheds and garages.
“Also, if you visited the Brecon Mountain Railway Thursday or Friday during half term and think you may have seen him please do call us; you will not be wasting our time, Maldwyn’s disappearance is causing great distress to his family and we really do need your help to try and find him.”
Anyone who may have seen him should contact 101 and ask for South Wales Police quoting occurrence 1800066330.
