A DINOSAUR is missing in the Upper Swansea Valley following the heavy rain brought by Storm Callum.

The area was lashed by seven inches of rain which saw one of the 250 dinosaurs at at the Dan yr Ogof Showcaves attraction washed away.

The centre says it has spent the past two days searching for the Jurassic age model and is offering a £300 reward for its safe return.

Kerry Bennett who looks after their maintenance has spent the last 48 hours looking for him in nearby rivers, but it appears that the dinosaur must now be somewhere between Dan Yr Ogof and Swansea.

Mr Bennett said: "Looking after the dinosaurs, and their maintenance over the years you get fond of them, and this is the first one that has disappeared on my watch. I have been searching the river banks for the last 48 hours but he seems to have decided to find a new home. If anyone does spot him I would be very grateful if they would contact me at the caves so I can bring him back."

Dan Yr Ogof has offered a reward of £300 for information leading to the dinosaur’s safe return.

The photograph shows a similar model to the one that has been washed away.
