WYLESFIELD Residential Care Home, in Llandrindod Wells, threw open its doors last Friday (June 16) as part of National Care Home Open Day.
Bev Nethercot began the entertainment giving his ‘Life Story in Music’ on his keyboard. Tea and cakes were served whilst visitors chatted to residents and staff, enjoying the refurbished courtyard garden.
In the afternoon, Phill Jones gave a talk on his book, ‘The Flyers of Radnorshire’. Many residents also had tales to tell about their experiences during the war years. Following the talk, the raffle was drawn by Llandrindod Mayor, Cllr Jon Williams. First prize was won by local resident and Wylesfield volunteer Carol Owens. Thanks go to Hay and Brecon Farmers who donated prizes. Over £100 was raised for the Residents’ Amenity Fund.
